May I extend a very warm welcome to all visitors to this website.
St. Augustine’s, Anglican Church, Bexhill on Sea is situated to the west of Bexhill. The Church was built in 1932, its main purpose then, was to act as a chapel of the many private schools in and around Bexhill at that time. Extended in 1962, St. Augustine’s caters for the spiritual needs of a large and diverse community.
At the very centre of our life and witness is the offering of the Mass. It is here that we encounter the Living Lord through Word and Sacrament. Mass is offered throughout the week (see weekly sheet for details) and provides a stable foundation for the many activities that St. Augustine’s offers.
You will read, as this website unfolds, of the variety of activities that we offer. Pastoral care and teaching lie, I hope, at the centre of our outreach in the parish. Each and every person is valued and given a warm welcome into our growing community.
St. Augustine's stands within the Catholic tradition of the Church of England and is a member of The Society of St. Wilfrid and St. Hilda.
May God bless and keep you. Fr Robert Coates SSC.
